Other Implementations

    The Jython Project
Jython is an implementation of Python written in 100% Pure Java.
It integrates seamlessly allowing Python scripts to run on the Java platform.

The most recent development release of Jython is 2.5rc4 (08 Jun 2009)
The most recent production release of Jython is 2.2.1 (14 Oct 2007)
(A Jython 3.0 version to implement Python 3.0 is still just a concept.)

Jython offers benefits such as being able to run Java applets.
However, Jython is significantly behind Python in versions.
